How to Book your Ticket

  • - Trekking to Agasthyamala, will begin from January 20th to February 26th, 2022.
  • - 100 passes are issued for each day , due to Covid restriction limit discreased to 50 for the year 2022
  • - Charges are INR 1580* per person
  • - From year 2014, Online Booking is thorough https://www.forest.kerala.gov.in/ or https://serviceonline.gov.in/trekking/
  • - Agastyarkoodam Seat Availability Status for the year 2022 https://serviceonline.gov.in/trekking/keralaReport.jsp
  • - Booking opens before the trekkking date , the dates would be published somewhere around 10th January in all major newspapers.
  • - Once Entry Pass is issued no partial/full cancellation is allowed. Amount once paid will not be refunded
  • - Be quick to apply on the first day itself, as permits run out in 15 minutes.
  • - Anybody above 14 years of age can apply for the trekking permits.
  • - Ladies too are allowed from 2019 onwards
  • - Trekkers are required to carry RT-PCR negative report not older than 72 hrs from the time of sample collection or a COVID vaccination Final Certificate (after 2 doses of vaccination).
  • - Trekkers must display their original Photo ID and Insurance copy

Rates

  • - Entry Pass INR 1580* per person
  • - Food is charged separately.
  • - It costs around rupees 40 for the breakfast if it’s idly and rupees 90 for Puttu (local traditional food) and Kadala curry (another local food) as breakfast.
  • - Tea is charged at rupees 10.
  • - The camera is charged at INR 100.

Instructions for trekking

  • 1. The participants must abide by the rules and regulations of Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department and all instructions issued by the Forest staff and guides.
  • 2. In case of violation of any instructions during trekking, Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department can initiate legal actions against you.
  • 3. You must be fully aware of the risk involved in the trekking program including attack from wild animals and health problems which may develop during trekking.
  • 4. This trekking is undertaken by you at your own responsibility. Kerala Forest/Wildlife Department/Eco Development Committee will not be held responsible for any loss/damage to the life or property of any of the participant..
  • 5. Carrying Plastic carry bags/ Bottles/ Utensils/ Food stuffs/ Consumption of Liquor/ Cooking are prohibited in forest during the trekking.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

  • Avoid getting separated from the group
  • Avoid bathing in the streams
  • Take photos only with the permission of the guides

  • Start return journey from the Agasthaymala before 01.30 PM
  • Accommodation is restricted in sheds only
  • ENTRY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO Agastyaarkoodam AFTER 11 AM

Who all can trek?

As the trekking is arduous and extends through dangerous paths, only persons with considerable physical strength can trek to Agasthyarkoodam. Children below 14 years will not be allowed. Both men and women can apply.

The certificate of administering two doses of COVID vaccines or the negative certificate of RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of trek have to be provided to get entry. 

The trekkers have to reach the forest picket station of Vithura-Bonacaud at 7 am of the trek with the original photo ID card and the printout of the ticket. The visitors have to submit a self-declaration with signatures. Each group with ten members will be provided with a guide by the Eco-Development committee.
